Paintings 2018-2020
In 2018, my interpretation of the cartoon characters began to become more abstract. I realized their meaning had changed for me as an adult. My childhood memories had been transformed and distorted over time. I found myself focusing more on the feelings and emotions associated with the memories of my youth. The new characters took form and emerged in an environment still heavily influenced by Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art.
