Paintings 2010-2017
From 2010 to 2017, my work was based on the mediation and appropriation of popular imagery such as comic books and cartoons. I admired the formal elements of comics and approached them from this perspective, analyzing the page layout, color combination and the narrative structure. I appropriated what interested me visually in order to create my own stories. The strong influence of Abstract Expressionism and my admiration for Pop Art created the environment in which my compositions emerged and became alive.
